Is Esri doing any integration with 3rd parties such as Jadu?

We are currently working with Jadu to allow for integration; this has been very successful as Jadu have recently released a version of Jadu connect (2.1) and Jadu Central. These implementations will use UKDL 7.1.1+. You will need to publish 3 locators with REST end points to allow this integration.

There are 3 locator endpoints needed:

  1. Street lookup (searches by street or USRN) – called <locatorname>_street
  2. Postcode search (searches for properties by postcode) – called <locatorname>_post
  3. Property lookup (searches for a property by UPRN) – called <locatorname>_uprn

Can I use the IDOX’s aligned assets URL within the ESRI system?

Yes you can, this should be a REST URL which can be added as an item or used within the ESRI platform. The URL should look similar to

 https://singlepoint.aligned-assets.co.uk/SinglepointEsri/rest/services/SinglePoint/GeocodeServer

Key elements will be that it has rest in the URL and GeocodeServer at the end. This can be added to ArcGIS Online using the following instructions:

https://doc.arcgis.com/en/arcgis-online/manage-data/create-locator.htm

What do I use the BNG locator for?

The Esri UK BNG locator is free to use and you would use it if you wanted to look up grid references or coordinates , examples include searching for a XY: 123456, 654321; a Grid squares: TL44; as sub tile: TQ1234 or; a quadrant: SN1234SE.

Will I still be supported using LocatorHub after 31st December 2023?

No but to enable the continued use of LocatorHub, we grant all customers who were in maintenance for LocatorHub to 31st December 2023, including customers that are covered by a term license on that date, the right to continue to access and use the software on the existing license term from 1st January 2024 until 31st December 2024, but with no maintenance or support provided and without any implied or express warranty. For more information please see the blog here.

What are my options for Northern Ireland addressing?

We have introduced OS AddressBase Premium Islands into UKDL at 7.1, this now allows you the ability to process OS AddressBase Premium Islands data and to create a set of locators from that
data. The alternative is to use the OS Places API which includes Northern Ireland data but is only available for single address searching. OS AddressBase Premium Islands is now included in the PSGA agreement.
